Vietnam New rule on Type Approval Procedure – Vietnamese Regulatory will accept test report issued by recognized Vietnamese laboratories and, U.S laboratories on the basis of Mutual Recognition Agreement
The Vietnamese regulatory is planning to release a new rule of Vietnam approval procedure and will come into effective from January 2012.
Content of new rule:
Upon new rule implemented, Vietnamese regulatory will only accept test report that issued by recognized Vietnamese laboratories and, U.S laboratories on the basis of Mutual Recognition Agreement. The test report from test labs that have been accredited and listed on the ICTQC list by authority will no longer be accepted.
Remark:
(1) Before official announcement, the application may follow current certification procedure.
(2) The new rule will not affect already certified products. The products haven’t yet certified shall follow new requirement to obtain type approval.
(3) Under new rule, which applicant should arrange the sample and send to recognized laboratories to perform test and get test report for obtaining type approval.
(4) The laboratory basic information (such as name, address etc.) stated on test report should be exactly same as reported on accreditation list.
(5) Currently there is only United State has MRA with Vietnam. Taiwan has not ratified bilateral
MRA yet.
